Its a genetic marker that causes the to be mostly white with some dark spots. I believe its an analogous condition to albino (humans) in Africa. I've never heard of a game department trying to protect such wildlife so I don't think its something that they seek to preserve, genetically speaking.

Apparently,  everybody I've hunted with this year is getting infected.......with the "storyteller gift" i sense this story will last at least a day. :chuckle:
