Are there birds in the field so far? have you scouted?  If there are birds flying over the field, you will need full body decoys and lay away blinds. I wouldn't waste your time If you don't have those answers.

Sounds like your jump shooting the holding pond with the little options you have.  Best of luck.

Like asking how should I harvest a deer, with no gun, bullet, knife, but I have a grass field.   :dunno: :dunno:

I’d try pass shooting.  Locate yourself in their flight pattern with as much cover as possible and wait for them to fly by.

I'd try finding somewhere else to hunt.  You're probably better off scouting than spending the day shooting and seeing nothing.

last year there were always ducks, I just don't know if it's flooded yet, it doesn't take much to flood but we've had little rain. I have decoys, there's a blind right where the water should be.

Really?!  Get out there NOW and see if it's flooded yet so you know what you have to work with.  If you can't do that I'd plan on spending Saturday scouting out a spot for Sunday.

Your killing me. What till it floods. In fact wait 7 days after the birds show when it floods. If sit out there and pass shoot the few birds flying you will hurt your later season hunting.
