License requirements for duck hunting WA?
« on: October 16, 2015, 07:37:30 AM »
Hi folks,

Trying to get up to speed on what licenses are needed for duck hunting? Wanted to go hit the lake this weekend and bring my shotgun along, but the WDFW doesn't make it the most straightforward....

I'll be hunting lakes in the inter pierce county area if that helps? Thanks in advance!

Small game license, state migratory bird permit and the Federal Migratory Bird Stamp. The information is on page 3 of the Migratory Waterfowl and Upland Game Season regulations.

Yep, page 3.  Not that hard to see what's needed if you look.

Nowhere in your incoherent rambling did you come close to what can be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Argh! Go figure they would have that on the next fricken page... So used to how the the big game regs are setup that I didn't see that in the PDF file... Just want to (EDIT: NOT) screw up and not get everything and get dinged by the warden...

Thankyou for the info, good luck to all tomorrow!

I think there is an age exemption I think you now have to be in your mid 50s to qualify for the no HS card. Not sure of the exact cutoff date.

Also check the Pierce County Sheriffs web site for a map of "No Shooting" zones.  Some lakes are encompassed in these.  That would be a crappy ticket. I have been looking at similar things here on the Kitsap Peninsula and most lakes here are county regulated.

Make sure you get some teal tags when you get your duck stamp. Very important to have them.
