Almost that time...
« on: October 12, 2015, 01:59:45 PM »
... My favorite time of year. I love deer and elk camp. I got a taste of it scouting this weekend. Cool nights around a camp fire, cold mornings under the stars making coffee and standing by a little smudge of a fire before we head off to hunt. Really looking forward to the next 4 weeks. Good luck everyone!

Saw a doe push away this year's fawn earlier today.  Couple weeks and it should get fun out there.

Be safe out there.  Looks like things are going to be quite crazy down here. Travel the same road at the same time everyday and rarely meet anyone.  Must have met 3 trailers/campers and saw several more set up.  Also saw several rigs pulled over glassing hillsides.  Last buck I saw was a week ago and he was a forky playing chicken in the dark.  Headed out in the am with the son trying to get his first deer.

"I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"
