Value help
« on: October 16, 2015, 05:13:12 PM »
So, I am new to archery and am looking to pick up this entire set.  Was wondering if some of you experts could tell what a good value is on it all, so I don't get taken for a ride.  Thanks for the help!

Mathews drenalin, don't know exact age but atleast several years old if not more.
Then everything else in the pictures which includes an apple arrow saw, all sorts of broad heads and field tips, repair kits, fletching and who knows what else.  As stated I'm new to archery and don't know what a lot of that stuff is, but do want to learn.  Thanks again for any input.

It's a quality bow for sure, you might take it up to a shop and have it checked out.

Looks like a nice set up for somebody getting into archery. The Denaline dates back several years, yet was Mathews top of the line bow in it's day. I would say if you gave $300-$350, that's be fair to both. :twocents:

So you're saying $350 for the entire setup?

You pay 350 today. I'll give you 450 tomorrow morning. We'll both be happy.  :sry:

The bare bow is 350, saw 80, arrows (depending on quality) 70/dozen, sight 40, rest 25, misc stuff 75-100.  That'd be a reasonable deal for both of you. There's 2000 worth retail that was spent on that pile, and seller knows it. He'd be offended with a 350 offer. At least I'd be. If you need hard figures for him look at archery talk classified ads. Everything in that pile will be on there for sale.

Exactly why I am looking for advice and help on the value.  I don't want to offend anyone.  And he is wanting to trade it to me for my AR I'm trying to sell/trade for $1300.  I don't want to get ripped off seeing as I'm new to archery and want to learn.  Ive tried to do research, but there is so much there it's confusing to a noob as myself.

No way would I say a bare Drenalin is $350. What you have there is an older bow with several mix and match accessories. We all know how those things hold no where near their paid value. I personally wouldn't pay over $350.  :twocents:

If you sold your AR for $1,300 you could get a brand new set up that would be real nice

I'd give him 5-600 for everything based on the age of the bow. I had a denali best bow I've ever had

As long as the bow isn't all beat up I'd think the AR trade would be real fair trade.

Do not give a $1300 ar for that set up. If the set up is 5 years old I would give a third of what I figured it was new :twocents:

In a couple more years, how much do you think your ar will be worth... not really going to lose any value.

In a couple more years that bow wont be worth squat.

If your new to bow hunting you don't need all of that stuff. Sell your AR buy a good used 400-500 dollar bow and some arrows, release etc and your still ahead $$$$....then figure out if you even like bow hunting.

I agree with previous poster. Your new and will most likely not use half of that stuff. Looks like a lot of stuff there that you will never use. I have never had any use for an arrow saw. I buy my arrows from my local shop and he cuts them for free. I doubt youl ever use it. Lots of misc fletch and components that will sit in the case it looks like. All major bow manufacturers are making real nice bows for $350-500 range that are better than that bow because of demand and technology has gotten so much better. Sell your ar get a new bow and set up will what you want for less than your ar. He has quite a bit of money in that kit but also looks like he liked to swap a lot of stuff. Doubt he will like a low offer but like previously stated, stud loses value pretty quick. And seriously I doubt you would ever touch half that stuff.

That's probably the best way to look at it. :yeah:
