Took this beautiful buck this morning! It was an excellent season. Covered a lot of ground, found some good areas and ended up coming out yesterday with a couple of old sheds

These are all great Blacktails.  For those who have never hunted blacktail they don't know what kind of trophies you all have taken.  Congrats to all of you.

I was thinking about this today... What would a blacktail have to score to put it into the category of a 180" muley?
For B&C a mule deer has to have a min of 180, and B Tail has to have a min of 125. So id say 125 in.

Found one I wanted tonight. 426 yards. Had to wait for the 3 pt that I was gonna shoot to stand up and start fighting with this guy. Waited over an hour with crosshairs on the tree he was behind. This 4 was bedded behind some Doug firs and I couldn't see him until the 3 pissed him off. They got done sparring and he turned around made it out of the firs and I dropped the hammer. Nicer than I expected. Good buddy came and helped quarter, cape, and pack out to the truck. I'd still be there packing if it wasn't for him. Now next week it's time for the wife to lay one down!
Good job !!!  Good luck to the wife ...

Here is my Blacktail from last Fri. Finally caught him slipping up at 10am when he followed a doe into an opening about 150yds away. Sorry no great pictures, bad part about being solo. A little weather coming, it should be a good end to the modern season for those who still have tags!

Took this guy with ten minutes of light left Thursday night. Think he poked his head out of the brush just a bit to early and got lucky and caught him.

Out done by the wife again! I got my mulie last Friday and came home this weekend. Had yesterday off work to get some stuff done around the house and unpack from my hunting trip. Was taking the dogs for a walk when I noticed a buck chasing a doe in my field. After I saw what a brute he was, I called the wife and told her to get home quick because the buck might still be there. She drove the hour home and was able to put this guy down right in our field. Safe to say I didn't get much unpacking done yesterday.

Couldn't talk her out of this one. Only saw 3 deer in the last 3 days... Actually, it's hard to talk her out of it when your mouth is already telling her to shoot it.
