Which Pattern?
« on: October 20, 2015, 12:48:57 PM »
This is the same load of 1 1/4 oz of #3 steel shot fired from the same gun @ 30 yards - but with different chokes.   The paper size is 36" by 36"

Which is the better pattern?

The bottom one I think but when I pattern my gun I like to make a center mark and also draw a 30" circle around it. The top photo almost looks like you are shooting lower than the bottom photo. If you have the circle you can count the pellets and give yourself a good idea. I would do what h2ofowlr says also and try it at 40 yards.
