The Further Adventures of Jasmine
« on: October 21, 2015, 10:19:47 AM »
I did not send Jasmine to MT. with RJ.  I just couldn't afford it.  I have been following RJ's advice, and Jasmine is doing really well.  I have been doing most of the work myself, so there is no video.  :(  We have moved on from pigeons in a launcher to lightly planted pheasant, and she has developed a steady point.  She is not steady to shot and fall yet.  I'll need more help with that.

Jasmine will be 2 on Nov. 27th, so we have been getting her health clearances taken care of as well.  So far she has had her CERF eye exam, and her genetic tests.  I used Paw Print Genetics out of Spokane, and did their Labrador essential panel.  She has an appointment for Nov. 30th to have her hips and elbows x-rayed, and if that all comes back positive I will start looking for a boyfriend for Jasmine.

I haven't done anything about her thyroid yet, because I don't understand why it's done. :dunno:  Are there any lab people out there that can enlighten me?

I haven't gotten as far as picking a stud yet.  I'll start looking into that seriously after I know for sure she has passed her OFA screening.
