Anterless only?
« on: October 26, 2015, 12:37:17 PM »
Sorry to ask a silly question, but my call to the Game Dept. came up with two different answers from the clerks there.

If you draw an antlerless tag that's good during the regular season, be it deer or elk, can you still shoot a buck or bull with antlers, or is it antlerless only?
You'll never get a Big'un if you keep shooting Little'un's.

Yes you can kill a buck or a doe. But just one deer per year.

Any LEGAL buck in that specific unit or antlerless deer you've drawn a tag for would be legal to shoot. Check on your permit to see when your "antlerless" permit season ends, and good luck filling it.

I would double check the unit is open for bucks, I drew a antlerless tag in a unit not open for bucks one year.

Thanks all.
My doe permit is for 667.  I seem to draw it about every fifth year, but never fill 'em.  The population on the south side of that unit is still recovering from hair loss with a much lower population than just 15 years ago, so from my perspective, not filling a doe tag = a better chance at a nice buck in a few years.

Thanks again
