Those figs from a 24"barrel.
The way that you wander, is the way that you choose
The day that you tarry, is the day that you lose

One of the guys in our Utah camp whacked a nice 6X6 at medium range with the 6.5-284.  Busted him up good.  I was left impressed!
I sure hope to get the opportunity to chase bulls with it! My grand plan is to draw an observatory bull tag (it's where both my dad and grandpa took their first elk which were bulls) and to hopefully tag a bull with the .264. My dad made the stock for it and my grandpa took his first elk with it. It's wishful thinking, but, it's good to have a goal!
They is where you aint and you aint where they is.

Here's a 140gr SMK @ 2850 fps smashing through a bull elk @742 yds. With the velocity advantage of the win mag, you could assume similar results at about 950 yds.....

That's the onside scapula with a pencil hole and the offside beat to smithereens.

The 264WM is a good round.  It can be a little finicky at times, but overall its a performer.  Another thought would be a 6.5-06AI.  Gives almost he same performance with less powder and more barrel life.  Run 140's in either and it will do the job if your shot placement is good.

The 6.5-06AI will probably be my next project, hard to find anything not to like about it......

It's one of the most over looked rounds out there.  I build a bunch of them and have never had a complaint yet on performance.

I know a couple of old elk hunters in Castle Rock who swear by the .264 Win Mag. I've seen them run down a herd for three days, then shoot them where they stood, unable to outrun them. But they wouldn't hesitate to use the .264's at long range. Great choice.

I just watched The Best of the West with John Porter. The shooter used a 264 at 690 yards on an Elk, DRT ! Forgot, they were at 10'000 feet in Wyoming.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I sort of like BOTW.  Find it entertaining.  Haven't watched an episode in a few years so haven't seen that one.  Might need to visit my brother so I can watch it.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I remember it. But I was talking about the killing abilities of the 264, not the show itself. Personally, I don't watch hardly any shows anymore because they're all about, infomercials for products now. Plus, hunting out of a shack, with sliding windows, heat etc isn't really hunting to me.

The cartridge has more killing capacity than most hunters do. There's a lot more sub moa to 700 yd rifles than shooters.....

I realized that.  My thought process rarely runs in a straight line.  Sorry ;)
