Yes it is possible to shoot out a bunch of rockchucks. Hunt them in April and shoot the females. I had two big colonies of rockchucks I hunted over the years. One ended up getting posted, or the access path to the spot got posted as more and more people moved to WA state. The other was around WSU and had too many restless college students looking at them.I had a shooting friend that wanted me to take him to my spots but I knew if I did he wouldn't leave until the last chuck had been shot. He was the type he'd sit there until it had to come out of it's den. I'm considering hunting chucks again but this time I will do it with a handgun. This way I can shoot and shoot and still hunt the same chuck on return trips.
Don't be so bitter. Life is short enjoy it.
I did. I told him that it is an egregious transgression to return to someone else's chuck hunting spots without an invitation and his response was that he asked the property owner if it was OK and if it was OK with him he didn't see how I had any say in the matter.I have never seen such chutzpah and to say that it was a jaw dropping experience would pretty well sum up my reaction.
