RST. Ridiculous customer service.
« on: November 09, 2015, 03:24:42 PM »
While I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of living in the South, there's some things that go together like peas and carrots. Old American doubles and quail hunting in the South are one of those things. Several years ago I bought an old American LC Smith 20ga that was built in 1923. Back then 20's came with 2 1/2" chambers. When I bought the gun, I contemplated having the chambers opened up to 2 3/4", but was talked out of altering my classic SxS. Enter RST shotshell company. RST makes low pressure shells for all the old classic double guns, and are based in PA. At one point, I thought having 2 1/2" chambers would be a draw back, but RST makes owning an old double almost easier than owning a modern gun. I called RST on the 5th and my flat of shells arrived at my house today. It took all of 2 minutes in the phone to get exactly what I needed delivered to my front door. I can't say enough about RST and their customer service. They even split my flat up with half #5's and half #7.5's. If any of you have shied away from an old American double because of short chambers and shell availability, don't. RST offers ridiculous customer service with high quality shells at a reasonable price.

Btw.  2 1/2" Shells loaded with 7/8 oz of #5's at 1125 fps are pure death on pheasants.
