Twas the night before trapping season...and all through his head danced visions of Comstocks, Koros, Havahearts, and a warm fur shed.
All the fur trappers, some old and some new, turned in early for in the morning there is work to do. Land sets and water, log books and bait, must all be ready, so muskrat and beaver may both meet their fate.
Back in the fur shed mother will wait, with stretchers and scrapers, and hot coffee for her mate. Jr is excited for daddy's return, with stories form the trap line and to ask, "When is my turn?"
The trapper returns tired and cold. Mother and Jr were happy I'm told. The trapper said to Jr, "You're a strong young sprout, but sleep now my son, for tomorrow you help me out." Jr beamed with an ear to ear grin. He said, "I love you daddy!" and, "I am ready to begin."
