That would be the 19th, isn't that late rifle season?

Depends on the permit. The one I put in for is 20 days long, some are shorter.

Is a chill pill similar to a happy pill?

Some of the hunts started yesterday and others  start all through the month of November. Patience is a virtue. Hopefully the same patience the permit holders are abiding by with their trigger fingers.

I don't know since I've never taken either.  :chuckle:

I hope the permit holders are patient, it is only going to get better.  Hopefully they have someone else holding their bullets that they can trust but most importantly I hope they all enjoy their hunts.   I can't wait to get drawn for a special permit.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I'm 2days into my quality buck hunt in capitol forest. Miserable so far, only seen 3 deer 1 spike. No signs of really rutting. Hoping it gets better soon

Let's see some bucks!

The rut and migration started early.  There's a foot of snow in the mountains.  We're at the end of Day 3.  I'm sure there are some bucks on the ground already.

4 days of my (whitetail) quality time gone, ive passed on 4 bucks, only one of which was worth looking at.  Seen plenty of does, but nothing like rut activity yet.  Also run into a 4x4 muley that was all neck swollen rutty looking with 5 does, plus a smaller muley buck following around a different group of does.  Saw 3 bull moose, a calf with no mom in sight, and today a lone cow moose that i spent a couple tense hours sneaking by so as not to raise the general alarm on the mountain.  Oh and i got sloppy and spooked a lone cow elk yesterday.  All in all not seeing quite as much pre rut action as i hoped, but man is it nice to hunt public land all day and not hear a single vehicle anywhere.  Loving every bit of it.  And if i still have my tag when the zoo opens onbthe 7th, i have some good bucks more or less tied to the tree on my own property.
