Not sure if this is the right place to post this .....but....my tag, hunting solo most of the time, in a non-party way, went unfilled. Not one elk spotted in 2 weeks of hunting. I need to change my name from "C-Money" to " Vegetarian". Elk did come into the area I hunted. Looked like most camps had filled cow tags, and a I saw 2 branch bulls on displays in a couple camps. By Saturday afternoon, my body was tired. Pulled out Sunday afternoon to prep for work. Felt pretty good while putting in some Stick & Puck time at the ice rink with my son & niece, all the while wishing I have stuck it out one more afternoon. Most areas I walked appeared to have fresh elk activity by the end of the 2nd week. Kinda sick my bull points are gone. For now, my dream for a branch bull is still just a dream. I'm looking forward to being back with the crazys in the Colockum next year, I at least I usually see some branch antlered eye candy in there a few times a season. The Observatory tag is a good one, but you better hope winter comes early in the high county. It would have been an advantage hunting with a camp of 10 or 20 hunters going in 10 or 20 directions, gathering info to help plan the next days hunt. That said, A Huge THANK YOU to all my friends here at Hunting Washington who were kind enough to send me a PM with advice. All the info was very helpful, and very appreciated. I will end by saying, each elk, or deer, you or your family & friends are able to put in the freezer is very special. Never take it for granted, soak in the moment, and always thank God for animal.
