Nisqually 25 Shell Limit

A couple years ago the Nisqually Refuge enacted a 25 shell limit on their property open to hunting. Starting this year, the WDFW has done the same at Nisqually on their lands open to hunting. Just wanted to share.

After what I have been seeing this year.  I think I could agree with BT on the 25 shell limits on public land.  I saw several groups this weekend never drop a bird inside the 70 yard mark.  Then fire another 5-6 shells when they did wing one and it hit the water at 80 yards.  I kept watching the current carry there birds off.  An untrained dog and guys that couldn't get out far enough with waders to retrieve there birds.  It was bad.  Even worse watching an entire group of guys unload on snows at 125 yards per my range finder.

I see similar things every time I go hunting. That or the guys that call non stop.

Seriously more regulations. Ever drop a bird that other people don't shoot at cause they think it's too high. It's a great feeling.

Do people really bring more than a box of shells anyway? 

I've never felt the need to bring that much ammo.

I'm usually a 75-100 shells a day kind of guy especially if hunting from a boat.  Always better to have too many shells than not enough. Also sometimes you have to shoot a cripple 5 times on the water.

I would have to say you should learn how to waterfowl hunt!!! Guys like you that mess up duck hunting!!! Take up tennis!!!! 75-100 rounds to kill a limit!! Wow!!!

I carry 50 to 100 on every hunt. I have never used anywhere near that many. I do t like the idea of punishing guys that can't shoot.

Not sure id ever be in favor of a shell limit. What is the benefit, just decrease shooting? Ive never hunted an area with the restriction so im curious to know.

I have a little trailer on the back of my super mag hauler just for the case of Black Cloud Ts. I use one of those wet swabs for the barrels like they use on the ship cannons. Raining death, they call me.

I think the reason behind a shell limit is to reduce skybusting.  If you are limited on the amount of shells, you are likely to wait for the birds to be a little closer before you start blasting away.

Those 7.5 shot dove loads work pretty good on dispatching cripples. Holy cow I've seen divers take 4-5 hits after breaking a wing and they still keep going and going and diving and diving toughest duck around. They smell bad and taste even worse. There should be no shot shell restriction for diver hunting. Who is going to enforce it anyway?
