Day one.
First day we drove up mud creek road glassing in to the ravines coming from above,  while glassing a small buck and some does it look over my shoulder and there is a jeep on the main road, the guy steps out and yells, " hey, are you Pete" and I say yeah, he and says " I'm JRebel", ànd I think  sweet another forum memeber.
He tells me they spotted a nice shooter 4x5 with eye gaurds down the road,  so I tell him to "lead the way". We get where they spotted the shooter buck and he was no where to be found. His buddy heads up the ravine while we move farther up the road, jrebel climbs up the hill while I stay back at the truck the wife, who is the tag holder. (Granted she is not feeling weĺl) after a while  the  shooter buck is no where to be found, but a few smaller bucks were seen, just not shooters.

After that we follow him around looking for a shooter buck. Went up hign on mud, came down to Johnson creek and back to where we started. I had to get the wife back to camp, she was sleeping from being sick and needed to lay down, so we headed back to camp.
Made brunch for the wife and I,  gathered some firewood while she took a nap. About 3 pm I popped  my head in the RV and said, hey its 3 o'clock, you wanna head out for an evening hunt? She said " give me a few more minutes". So at 3:20 I popped backing and she was cutting a cord of wood, so I asked if she wanted to go out or if I should just go with out her?
She said to just go....... so I left her a radio and told her, if I see a shooter  buck, I will, call her on the radio and do to be ready when I get here.........

After driving around for a bit and not seeing any shooter buck (seen plenty of deer) I hear a call later come over the radio, Pete,  you there?  It was Jrebel.... yeah.... got a nice 3 point here...... I'm on my way...... but of course I had to run to camp and get the wife......  (but I was not far from camp)  grabbed the wife from camp, raced down to where he was at and looked at the deer he was watching,  but it was too late,  shooting time has passed, and we could not see crap.....

Later at camp, I  sitting at the campfire after dinner, having a drink and the wife comes out , hey, is there a store near by?
No, why?
Just started my mothly........ NO....... look in the RV bathroom...... and she says, I took those out  a month ago..... and say to look in the glove box, and luckily, there was few lady friends in  the glove box to hold off until, the next day, where we can go to town and stock up........And the rest of the evening, I spent by the fire drinking and she slept. ......

Day two,
Started by going back down and looking for the big 3 point from the night before.  Spotted a bunch of does and  small buck but no big boy, so I go down a little farther to look on the other side of the hill and the wife spots some deer that crossed the road. I look over and see some does moving in out of the trees, then I see him, thick mass, tall beam but not very wide, maybe 20" or so, but he was dark and had good thick base.
As he disappear over the ridge chasing a doe, I drag the wife up the opposite hill to get a better look. Now mind you she is still sick and is having a hell of a time, she just don't have the energy. Then we see the buck disappear over the very top ridge, and that was it, done......

We head out and head up Potatoe, didn't see but a hand full of deer and not one shooter buck. Mostly just lone does here and there. So we made our way down and went to town to get a few needed items, and have lunch.

On the way back in decided to take Osburn Mt to Steliko and check out the area.  A couple miles in I get a text from Cole (3ShotMcgraw ),  "got a big 4 point here". I called him amc found out where he was and headed over there,  sure was a big buck so we decide to go after it.
The buck comes out chasing a doe and he was hot on her tail.  Wife shot and missed.  We followed them around the hill to trying to get her another clear shot but the does never stopped and either did the buck. Just when he would stop for a moment and the wife would get settled for the shot, he would take off after the doe. We finally lost track of them and moved on, but it was not long before we see another decent buck.

We get to spot with a good view, the wife gets settled in and I told her, "it's not a huge buck and if you decide to pass and look for bigger buck, that's ok", ànd just as I said that, she puke the trigger.
Buck flops up, and ta,especially off behind the hill. We work our way down the hill and find where it was standing,  but no blood.  We flew the tracks looking fir blood and cloud not find any. I was starting to think she missed, but Cole says no way she hit it........ I kind of see something odd down the hill and looked closer at it with my binoculars, a day there it was piled up about 50 yards below us.... it only ran about 50 yards before it died, it was a perfect shot...... DEAD DEER.

Now is not a huge booner, but with the wife being sick and all the things that went wrong over the hunt that I didn't mention,  it is a well deserved trophy.

I got to give a big thanks to Cole for all the help he gave, spotting, climbing up the Mt to get a vehicle to the lower road so would not have enough to pack it up that monster hill, dragging it out and helping with everything. He came to the rescue of a complete stranger,  just another guy on the forum... thanks Cole.

And a big thanks to Jrebel, he did all he could go help the wife get her buck.

Nice deer! Congrats to your wife!!.. And by the way, I've never seen Jrebel, but am happy to say, he has helped me in a couple ways. Finding mushrooms, offering to hang an animal if I shot one. Nice to see people helping others... Again, nice job on the deer!!!
