I spent a couple days earlier in the week in the Alta looking around with bino's, spotting scope and camera.  Found some deer.  Just never saw anything I'd spend the late permit on.  I intended to be there for several days but family obligations got me...
I really wanted to learn more about how the rut develops, and how the deer move.
Had a ball while I was there! I still think there should be a lot more deer in that unit.
It's nothing compared to what it was like when I was a kid.

Talk to Fitkin and he will tell you there is more than enough deer for the habitat!! :bash: :bash:

spent yesterday in there and saw some deer, nothing I would shoot with a special permit.   The burn looks pretty good.  it should improve in the next few years.

Pretty much what I saw.  Havent photographed a big buck in there yet this year.   The amount of deer isn't even a sliver as historical

I wouldn't doubt it.  There was when hunting them with hounds was legal.

Heard from a wildlife biologist, it is almost a problem.

Looks like a cat kill.
