I watched a wolf drop down into the alta unit last year during my late buck hunt. Saw lots of tracks in the snow.

The one with the hand in it looks like canine and the other looks like cat. Could they be different tracks ?

They were right next to each other. We should of taken a better pic of the bed. I was trying to capture the whole bed with piss.  There were a lot tracks and definitely wolf. We saw wolf track on this same ridge last year.

Ridgeratt, I suppose that could be true but tracks came up out of a canyon, traveled the road a ways and then dropped of the other side of the road towards Alta.  Btw, no boot tracks anywhere along that stretch besides mine.

Well if people held out for larger bucks they might be eating tag soup.

It's a tough time in the Alta.  I have been seeing plenty of deer, but the rut is pretty well over and the weather has not pushed many deer down from the high country.  No shooters yet.

Lots of wolves in Alta.  They have increased their range a lot in the past few years.  Had some resident moose where I hunt and they cleared out.  The deer have largely cleared out, with a few small pockets of skittish deer left.  I see a lot of wolf scat and tracks.  Lots of cats last few years.  I started packing a sidearm during muzzy season, since I hike in the dark.  Too many dogs and cats.
