Gardner Whitetail rut........ timing......
« on: November 07, 2015, 07:35:45 PM »
I've got a Gardner Whitetail buck tag - Nov. 1-20.
This is the Winthrop/Twisp area.

I'm not hearing of any rut activity from the Whitetails yet.

I have Nov.14-18 planned.

Somebody calm me down and tell me that they'll be in FULL RUT at that time......

You should be pretty good by then. From my experience its about the 25th when they peak.

LOL.

I just really want to hunt Whitetail bucks in the rut.

I've never hunted Whiteys, and a full-on rut hunt just sounds awesome.

I've been on a couple epic rut hunts for Muleys........   I just really want to hit the rut.

Does that make me greedy?     8)

One of my only W.A. Tags was a whitetail rut tag. East Okanogan. It is still the most fun I've had hunting deer!!

What was the rut timing for that hunt?

And what made it so fun?

And what made it so fun?

This was in 07 I think in the 204 unit it was the second week of November.
It was a any whitetail buck tag. What made it so fun was being by myself for a whole
Week. Saw a lot of bucks. Since I had a whitetail tag I saw some spectacular Mulies.
Hunted around Chesaw, Molson, buckhorn.area. Isaw some real nice WT bucks but ended up not taking a deer. I've hunted that area quite a bit but during the rut is AWSOME, probably see three times as many bucks.
Good luck and have fun.
Bring cold weather gear. It went from the fifties to the low teens and snowing in that week.

What part of the unit are you going to hunt? I saw a nice whitey buck up the Twisp river rd a few years back when I had the late muley tag. I'm heading over tomorrow also for my Sinlahekin whitetail hunt. But I don't want rut yet!
