One very small kit beaver this morning. Spent most of the morning reorganizing my garage. Seems like I go through this two or three times every year. Just haven't found a layout that works best. I kind of like the way I got it today.

Put a skunk trap out and kept the camera on it. Hopefully have a closed door tomorrow.

Here is the new layout of the fur shed.

Looks like I had the trail camera a little too high. I got three videos but did not get the capture. The most interesting is the time stamps.

Look where the bait can is.

This was the last video until I got there. The bait can was 4 feet away from the trap when I got there at 730am.

Not sure my wife approves of the odor. I removed the essence flawlessly, didn't spill a drop but when you push the essence out into a jar, WOW!

Now that the lid is on I'm hoping the odor dissipates quickly.

A great learning experience and Ill be after a few more next week. Very underappreciated fur.

Use a syringe and you will have very little if any odor.

I used a syringe to harvest the essence and to dispatch. It was the transferring from syringe to glass bottle that allowed it to get into the air. It dissipated really fast once the lid was on.

Do you freeze it?

What is the best way to store it?

I double bagged the glass jar in zip lock bags and buried it in a plastic tub of kitty litter.

Put a balloon over your glass jar mouth and inject the essence through the balloon.  Dip your lid and bottle top in wax and put it in some dirt.  No smell.
