Thank you for posting that!     There is no denying that is Krusty Folks. Is the Hunter on here? I'd like to just say congrats on taking a terrific animal.  That picture shows him quite well.  If you hadn't already guessed, this buck was special to me. I'm glad someone worked hard and got it done.

Pretty dang cut and dry:

Does he still score the 160" that we thought? 33" wide!!!

Now that's what I was referring to in my very early posts. A pic is already all over the Internet so why is permission needed to post a link? Hell, if i had recently checked MM and seen that I would've posted the link as well. If it's everywhere already then why fret?

Congrats to the hunter on a nice buck.

:yeah:

I guess the question is - did those posting with knowledge of this dead buck know it was posted on MM?  If so - thats pretty lame.  :twocents:

Velvet is always tough for me.  It is a great buck and if someone did take it, congrats.  I would be nice to know the score but not the end of the world if it doesn't come out.  I didn't figure we would ever know the score until someone said it was dead, then there was hope we would get a real answer.

For what it is worth my guess would have been 155-162 and a shooter all day long if I had a chance.
With the kill photo out I am sticking with my original guess, 155-162.  Great looking deer hard horned as well.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

The guy is long arming the heck out of it. It could be 40" but your still only getting credit for the longest main and I still think it's 23". After seeing him rubbed I might give him a bit more mass, the mass is always hard for me to tell on a velvet buck. He's a great buck for sure!

Now I got to agree with IDH and Bobcat  :chuckle:

being this was posted on the internet I can't see anything wrong with tossing up a link.  One thing if it was on a guy's phone not posted anywhere, but something else entirely if it's already posted elsewhere.

I was shocked at how much mass it still had with the velvet off.  Velvet always gets me on the guessing score.  But after seeing this one I am a little more confident in my guessing.

Definitely not 40" wide and your right the main beams are under whatever the spread is.

No doubt I would shoot this deer any day of the week and wouldn't care what the score was.  Deeper forks and the added G4 would improve the score massively but this is one that the score just wouldn't matter, it is a great buck.

Incredible buck for sure.  We had a thread a couple years back titled something like "Great bucks that don't score diddly" and this one might have been the winner.

I think Phool's measurements are pretty close, although I'd probably give him an extra inch or two here and there and wind up in the 165 neighborhood.

I agree he's awesome! I hope I'm not sounding critical and I don't mean to be if it weren't for the OP asking for advise with what we thought I'd just be drooling over him and being jealous! Congrats to the hunter
