Not Your Typical Blacktail
« on: November 09, 2015, 07:04:07 AM »
A co-worker of mine spotted this buck with two others while doing site visits just north of Olympia on one of the peninsulas.  Definitely worth a second look.

Cool headset.  Nice of him to stand still for a photo.

There were quite a few double main beam bucks killed in Hawkes Prairie over the years.

tell all the city folks that only happens when the buck breeds with another buck, the resulting fawns grow extra main beams.

Saw one like that, looked like a 3 or 4 point desert muley rack on him, reeeal tall rack and long tines.
Where?
Near Lake Whatcom, in Bellingham city limits (Lakeway Drive) in somebody's back yard! Only had a crappy work issued flip-phone, got one fuzzy pic of him, it's like a UFO / Bigfoot sighting.

Not to thread jack but this was my nontypical blacktail from a few years ago. I love the non-typical.
