Gmu 354 issaquah late season archery
« on: November 09, 2015, 02:28:43 PM »
Hello, was wondering if people hunt this in late season and if its crowded? I'm a med student at PNWU in Yakima and don't have a whole lot of time to hunt so I was wondering if its worth the time to scout it and put game cameras up? Been studying most weekend but I NEED TO GET INTO THE WOODS at some point! From what I've researched about 200 deer was taken last year in that area and table mountain seems like the place to go. I have a couple cameras up in GMU 388 which I'm going to check sometime later this week if I can manage the time and if its hit then I'm going to hunt that for late season but if its not then I was hoping to get some cameras up late November around thanksgiving and hunt it over christmas break when I'm home visiting family. What better way to spend the holidays then hunting? Its open till December 31st with any deer. Prefer a big buck but a doe would do just fine! Any advice is much appreciated and you would really be helping me out a lot. Hope everyone feels their freezer!

There is some dnr land in the unit that is open.  Most of the area is private.

I've tried some of the public land in there before for late archery.. There are deer in there, but there's lots of non-hunting hikers, joggers, dog walkers, Mt bikers in there too so just be careful. It always surprises those people when they see me.. I've been asked more than once, "is it legal to even hunt here" ? I could tell they weren't happy to see me out there.. Good luck on the finals and enjoy the break! Good luck out there!
