Building an Archery back stop
« on: November 03, 2015, 08:39:21 AM »
I am looking to build a backstop to shoot some arrows at.

Does anyone have any recommendations or know a good method?

Thanks in advance!

lots of ways... Hay bails work great just tarp em to keep dry when not in use... Cardboard boxes filled with old clothes work, keep em dry...old carpets, ether stacked and banded tight about 18 inches thick, or 4-5 carpets hanging loose from a line about 2-3 inches apart...

I used the carpet layering, its free on CL, and its ok if it gets wet, then i found some boat dock styrofoamon on CL for cheap and put that behind the carpet....

Thanks for the reply, I am thinking of using this method:

I have pretty much the same setup, but rather than cardboard I used old carpeting.  Easier to find than 4' x 4' cardboard.
Mine is in a frame that hangs between 2 trees rather than a free standing stand.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.
