Anyone wear loggers for hunting?

I was giving it some thought. Every pair of "hunting" boot I have tried last no more than 2 seasons before I am getting wet or they start falling apart. From time to time in the past I have worn work boots hunting and I Have never had work boots fall apart no matter what the abuse, even the $40 walmart boots I had for construction are still good after 8 years except for the cut in the back of the heel from a utility knife (the knife slipped when I was cutting soft pipe in a narrow ditch). Then $80-$250 "hunting" boots never seem to last me. I love loggers for working but was wondering if anyone wears them for hunting. Pros and Cons of them?

used to wear my custom White's from my firefighting days, made to fit me so super comfortable and extremely durable. downside? typically heavier than others, hard soles aren't the best for being stealthy, triple stitched makes 'em wide and they can catch on stuff when trying to be sneaky. don't know if I've answered anything for you but that's my

I have a hard time with ankle roll in a typical logger boot with a heel,  I suffered a lot of pain chasing birds in chucker areas.

I wear my old pair of whites hunting. I like them a lot when hunting when it is dry, but not when it is real wet or cold. No insulation sucks.  I am used to wearing boots from the summer, so that's why I wear them hunting. My feet would hurt too much switching back and forth. I feel like I have a better grip walking with them on and a lot quieter than hikers.

That being said, I would wear hikers/hunting boots if I were to buy a new pair. I already have my eye on lowas and scarpas.

All that I wear are loggers with a smaller heel, they work great for me, I think they are much more durable off trails. I used to wear them constantly for cruising timber so no reason why they don't work for hunting. They can be cold if sitting though and need to be oiled regularly for them to be comfortable and last

I'm of the same opinion, I'm tired of wearing out the high tech stuff and going back to basic all leather.  I got a new pair of Danner fire boots this summer and they worked well for my archery elk hunt in Sept.  Break in of sturdy boots is rough but nothing some moleskin can't handle.   I'm optimistic they will prove durable long term but only have one early season on them so far.  http://www.danner.com/product/work/flashpoint-ii-10-all-leather-black.html

I like the look of those. When debating what to go for I really found that I like the Irish Setter Elk Tracker. I would love to find hunting boots made in USA. It has proved difficult. I find plenty of work boots and loggers that are USA made but boots made for hunting have been hard to come by. Even brands that boast a lot of made in USA boots seem to fall short when it comes to the hunting boots.

for going into the hellhole on a stormy winter day after big bull elk, nothing beats WESCO caulk boots and heavy rain gear. You will not fall or slip, you will be sorta dry, and in the rain storms noise is not much of a factor. West side mountains. brush holes for short shots.

only pair of dedicated hunting boots ive purchased in my life were absolutely wonderful, until I got about 10' off the gravel road, not much support, nor traction, and after one season, they were shot, not to mention, my feet were constantly wet. ive worn loggers before and after that set.

got a pair of danner steel toe loggers on right now, breaking them in for late muzzle deer, yeah they are heavy, and get kinda cold when sitting, but they are tough, dry, and grip like crazy. plus work paid for almost the entire cost, and im a tightwad

Aint that the truth!  But i bought a new pair this year.  Maybe by the time they start squeaking i can afford the Kenetreks that i LOVED, but my wife about fainted at the price

I wear some Caulk boots during late season occasionally.
No good on roads, but if you hit the bushes and steep draws they are a blessing.
