Ambers 2nd big BT
« on: November 13, 2015, 08:29:01 AM »
I am very proud of Amber, we hunt a piece of land in the willamette valley and this is her 2nd Big buck and both bucks were exactly the one she wanted to kill. We had this guy on cam last year as a good 4x4.. he was not as heavy but still a good deer, she named him "patches" because of his double throat patch. She made her mind up that this was the only buck she wanted, so much in fact that she rattled in a much bigger buck yesterday before killing this guy, only to realize that the first buck was 10-15 inches bigger. She set up and did a rattling/grunt/can sequence and that monster came in to within 20 ft. She also called in a respectable 3x3 we have on cam and a nice 2x2. Around 330 she called again and "patches" and a doe came in to 15 ft... she knew it was him and took him. Hard work pays off, we keep cams up year round and supplement with minerals and corn/apples. What a gorgeous deer.

Assume job Amber.  Great that you have the ability to "target" a certain animal and succeed in getting it.  Fun!!

Great buck!  Congrats. Should be a real pretty mount with all the color and dark horns.

Great job setting her sights on one animal and getting it done.  There's some big brutes down in the Willamette Valley, huh?
