Thinking of change for 2016

I am just looking for input on switching to muzzleloader season for elk hunting...Currently I hunt during Archery season but haven't been able to get out these past few years... Is it odd to use bow during muzzle season would be other question?

 I have pondered this for a few years & have many positives & a few negatives, but would like to hear about any good or bad feedback before next year's decision....

The way the rut has been it might not be a bad idea. I moved to Oregon a few years ago and have been hunting both states. It's hard not to hunt Washington for me because I do pretty well. But I have finally found a good spot here. I may bow hunt Oregon and mz loader Washington

If you're ok with having fewer days to hunt, think the rut timing works for your style of hunting better, and are willing to accept the additional range and shot selection limitations, then it makes sense to switch.

Actually, in Western Wa, I get 7 days early (either sex, but bulls are 3 point or better), sometimes overlapping the rut, and 25 days late season, 3 point or better bulls only. 32 days total for elk.
