We headed East this weekend for the late hunt and I'm just curious how many others hunted for whitetail, too.
Friday was pretty insane.
Saw a nice amount of bucks Friday, but unfortunately they were still pretty spooky, actually very spooky.
They never gave me more than 30 seconds, sometimes just catching a glimpse and attempting to catch back up to them, was the best I could do.
Saturday, there was some heavy rain and I believe they were in the thick cover, plus more hunters. We didn't see much in Saturday.
Sunday was a cool day though saw some mulies, a moose and a white weasel.
Saw more whitetail bucks, as well. We never saw anything under 4 points and not the small basket heads either. My guess is maybe the smaller ones were taken during the general season?
I'm just wondering if this is the norm for over there or was it just luck?
Obviously getting one would've been awesome. I must say though seeing that many bucks, all on public land, in an area I've never even scouted felt pretty darn good.
I love just being in the woods and enjoy all the crazy stuff you come across.
I haven't seen much talk on here abut the late whitetail hunt. Kinda interesting. Anyone have an amazing late whitetail hunt, too?
