Who has experiences with shooting heavy steel?  I picked up a case yesterday at cabelas 3 1/2" for $175 plus a 15 rebate.

Probably works a little less good than lead.

My buddy shoots heavy steel and likes it. I think it is just another steel option.

I have shot 4 cases of it and both of my boys shoot it.  I purchased it due to the pricing I received on it.  It is standard steel shot.  Only difference from that of the cheap Winchester and Federal steel shells is that of the wad.  The Hevi Steel uses the same shot wad as the Hevi Metal.

I prefer shooting the Hevi Metal especially if the birds are out past the decoys.  A higher percentage of folded birds in my personal experience.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I shot a few boxes last year, the crimps almost always had a small gap letting water/moisture in super easy, and I often hunt the saltchuck so any shells that weren't shot that day would be super rusty or duds by the next weekend.

Definately not for me.
