First DIY Euro mount, blacktail

Dipped it in a tub with black spray paint on the surface. I think it looks pretty cool. :dunno:

What do the experts think?

Not an expert but I like it and might have to try it next year.

I don't get what you mean by dipped in a tub with spray paint on surface?

He basically Hydrodipped the skull. Spray a bunch of paint into a water filled bucket, let it form a film on the top of the water then slowly submerge whatever it is you are coating. Makes for a very nice even coat.

The hydrolic pressure from the water presses the still tacky paint into the surface of the object you are dipping. it gets into all the nooks and crannies really well as you can see

I tried the camo colors first and they seemed to sink before I could start to dip. So I used a satin black enamel and that worked pretty good.

I wonder if adding something to the water or using a different fluid would help suspend heavier paints... May be something to look into.

I think the water might have been too cold. Warmer tap water seemed to work better. It was a cool experiment.

Gonna try a pattern next time.
