When do blacktail drop?
« on: November 19, 2015, 10:15:57 AM »
I guess its a pretty simple question, but when do blacktails along the coast drop their antlers? I'm thinking of driving over to the ocean around Christmas and always loved taking pics of the bucks around Ocean Shores. Then we are driving south along 101 all the way to Northern Cal. Be nice to see some critters still sporting bone!
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

If you see bucks on that drive, they will have antlers.

Ours seem to start showing up on the ground early to mid Feb.

If your chasing them at the feeding station then they have moved way east and are not "blacktail" anymore  :chuckle:
