Savage 16 Lightweight vs. 11 Lightweight
« on: November 19, 2015, 03:19:17 PM »
Why the big price difference between the Savage 16 Lightweight (SS/Syn) and the 11 Lightweight (Blue/Walnut)?  Is the wood really jacking the price up that much?

I can find 16 Lights for right around $500 but can't seem to find an 11 Light for under $650.

I have been wondering the same thing, and it is not just savage, seems like you cannot find any gun new with wood stock under $700?

I'm more curious about features.  If the 16 has all the same features (other than being SS and having a synthetic stock), I'll just buy the 16, but the price difference suggests there are other differences that I'm just not seeing.

I really don't see how there could be any differences when it comes to these models..  They both have accutrigger there both off the same action with the same fluting..   The only thing I can see is maybe the wood stock is an accustock or bedded and the sythetic is not?  For my money I would go with the 16 and still allows you to put a different stock on if you wanted and be under the price of the 11..   Really tempted to pick up a 16 in .270..
