Headed down there in a couple weeks. Would anyone be willing to provide some intel? Since its refuge done by draw I'm assuming we feel safe talking about it on the open forum  :)

Decoys: big spread or little? winducks and pull strings? Is it all wade-able or do we need a kick tube? Is there anything else a guy might want to know for actually hunting it?

Unless you have a reservation then its a morning draw for a blind. You may not get picked.  I think quality decoys with some species diversity and some way to put some ripple in the water is important if there is no weather.  One bag of decoys should do it. 2 doz ish.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Over all the numbers on the refuge are down, like until recently the water. The low water helped hunting as all the birds were using the hunting side. The population of shovelers is strong. My last trip we shot 6 stud pins let the kids shot shovelers but there was a lack of mallards and wigeon.
