I went out 3 days out of the 6 for my 437 late Sauk permit. 2 of the days were too dangerous to be out due to the wind storms. I didn't see a thing. I probably covered at least 50 log units... pretty frustrating not seeing any living creature  >:(

Shot a pretty good sized body spike with 1/2" spikes sunday.
Lots of deer seen this late season which I did not expect with the weather. I hunted the steepest hills I could find with 4 to 10 year old reprod. Deer were bedded down throughout every hillside I glassed. And moving around feeding all day on this hills. Seen 40+ deer

Bankwalker might wanna think about removing your post about 1/2" spikes.  WA state law says all points must be at least an inch long.

Never mind that's kind of confusing how it says at least 1 inch but says any visible antlers for any buck.

Looks like a 2x4 to me, if I'm seeing all the points.

I agree BC, that is what I would call it however, the exercise here is toward those eye guards. people can count to allow this to be called a legal 3 on that 2 side (in this state if). I read the gen deer  "A legal deer taken in these GMUs must have at least 3 antler points on one side. A 3x3, 3x2, or
3x1 are legal in a 3 pt. min. unit. Antler points must be at least one inch long measured from the longest side, including eye guards."

Counting eyeguards for legality purposes, I'd say 2x5.

Passed on a goofy 3 point and a ton of spikes in Vail during late rifle.  Most of the deer were right smack in the middle of the day.  Pointed out a spike for a couple of kids that were having a tough go of it who wound up shooting it.  It is snowing at the foot of Vail right now.  Should be good for muzzy season tomorrow!!  I plan on being up there.

Yea it throws some people off. But a spike is perfectly legal with any visible antler length.

Yesterday afternoon my daughter and I cut some monster tracks in the snow, followed them for about a mile before we caught up with a really nice 4X5 then after another mile of cat and mouse through the brush and timber he gave us the slip by jumping a creek that was far too swollen for us to cross.   :bash:  Wound up getting back to the rig about an hour after dark.  He seemed to be on a mission to head towards a lower elevation.
