Yeah good job Ice-man. Eastern ducks taste a whole lot better than west side mud ducks. It's amazing none of your birds look shot up :dunno:

You know we actually did get a ruddy hen a few weeks back in the same area so I can definitely say it wasn't quite the same bird. Here is the only close up I took of this one, shows the ring on the bill sort of from this angle :)

Edit to add: they do seem rare around western Washington though, even the game warden took a picture of it just to take back with him. Odd indeed!

Yeah, couldn't see the ring on the bill in first pic.

From that first angle looked like a Ruddy
