RESEARCHING SPRING BEAR HUNTS
« on: November 29, 2015, 09:56:22 PM »
Does the game department archive on their web site the past years reports of number of permit holders that actually hunted; average days per hunter and harvest records for each area?

I would be interested in knowing what some of the areas did over the last several years but a very quick look at the web site I did not see anything that resembled archived records.

I would also be interested in doing this for other animals too.

This might help, don't know if this is what you looked at already.

It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

The harvest reports are all there for previous years, but I don't think they're very reliable, especially for spring bear permits. Not sure why, maybe just due to the low number of permits, but the data seems very inconsistent from year to year.

It's more than half that don't do the report. It's a large majority. They apparently need to enforce that requirement better. Should be if you don't do your report you can't buy another hunting license until you do.
