I have been told that this will not effect the fisher being released in WA. It could effect trapping in NE WA. I doubt there will be much if any fallout here because of our use of cage traps. Might have a pretty significant effect in MT and ID.
MT was sued over lynx and ID is being sued over incidental lynx capture. No suit has been brought in WA over lynx. I think probably both lynx and fisher, we will be in the clear unless one is caught and dies. Not likely.
ID had one lynx killed by a trapper and quite a number released and they are getting sued because of that one lynx.

Sure helps when a trapper shows pictures of the release and provides to state agency.
