Just got done with a lightly smoked deer tag, seasoned gently with disappointment and bay leaves. Tasted horrible. One more chance this weekend to wash it down with some elk meat.  :(

I did not notch a tag this year, first time in 10.  However, I hit a buck with the crossbow and passed up several while trying to determine if I killed the one or not (pretty sure I did not) and I did put the finishing shot in someone else's deer.  I also got to be sitting next to my son when he got his first deer.

A very successful year!

First year hunting in WA and it's tag soup for me, couldn't connect with a wetside blacktail.  Headed to TN in a couple weeks to hunt whitetail with family so hopefully I connect there.  They have some bruisers caught on camera  :IBCOOL:

My deer tag is notched but that leaves three tags for tag soup. I'll have to wait on the cougar tag though, won't cook it up until after March 31st...

Tag soup for my multi deer and elk, and cougar tag.  Did kill an elk in Idaho and a spring bear so I feel great about the season.  My wife's elk hunt also made the year very good.

another year going o'fer. Unless a cougar happens to run across the road at some point, but that will be a pretty hard chase with a torn meniscus. Maybe I can get a late disabled permit?  :chuckle:

I must be hungry...that sounds yummy    :EAT:

I got my deer this year, but tag soup for elk and bear.  Still holding out hope for cougar and late turkey!

I am eating my WA bear tag and my Idaho elk tag. Still happy with my injured  WA whitetail spike, Idaho doe, and two  WA turkeys this year.

Did not get my deer this year - first time after four successful years.
This is why...

I was butchering my dad's buck and wasn't about to go shoot another one until I was done.  Of course four different bucks paraded past the window while I was working, and that was the last I saw of any bucks on our property during the season!

Sounds like you got some good exorcise and scouting in for next year. They must have been shooting animals all around you.

Little Naches early archery was fun but not much for bulls bugling
saw one taken where we were
Deer, typical Winthrop cluster of people
Colville was fun to learn a little
heading out with my bow this am looking again for a meat doe

Nothing for me.

I saw more hunters this late archery season then ever before (late archery for deer is the only season I do). And I only hunted during the week. Every time i thought I had a stalk going another hunter would appear. It got to be where i would just sit and watch the other guys from afar and try to anticipate them moving a deer my way.

I did scout and hunt a new spot that I had all to myself till late yesterday. I was initially excited about the new spot till the deer all but disappeared the past two days.

Oh well, i have a few new ideas for next year.
