Vortex Viper HD vs Leupold BX3 Mojave Pro Guide HD

Kinda trying to get a comparison on these two. Have read alot on the Vipers here but wondering what the word is on the Leupolds. Vortex has a military discount so that may help my push towards them also.

Not a fan of Vortex
I think at one point Zen Ray might have had a military discount. I'd check there as I tried the ED3 once and they were awesome

Is that off the $699 MSRP price or off of the $599 price most places sell them for?

I've used primarily Leupolds my whole life with a NightForce, Nikon here and there. Four years or so ago I decided to try Vortex scopes because the price was attractive and I felt it was worth a try due to the price point most Leupold LR's & MK 4's were at. The three Vortex scopes I tried along with my brothers were less than pleasing to say the least. These weren't zero and forget setups, these were on long range rifles where the turrets had to be repeatable, which they weren't. All off them had a issue with tracking in the elevation adjustment on the turret.
This wasn't a problem with the rifles, they were solid performers with a Leupold MK4 in place. With the Vortex scopes, the first round was always out after a elevation turret adjustment. As in going from a 300 yard zero to my 600 yard dope. The first round would be out and the second would settle in. I called Vortex and explained it, they don't want to hear it. I sent one scope back once and a second twice. They said they looked them over and they were within their specs. What good is the first round being out when it comes to a long shot in a hunting situation.
Sold them cheap mounted my MK4 back up and the issue was solved. Now as for the new HD stuff I can't speak for I have never used it. I just learned, don't fix it if it isn't broke.

Have had several pair's of Viper 10X42's. Last pair stayed with my PH in Africa. The Razor 10X42's have been around my neck last 5 years. For clarity and warranty, the Vipers are hard to beat in the price range! Go and compare..your eyes will make the choice!!

We have a couple pair of the Mojave bino's. They have been great.
With the discounts if they are from the factory. Most of the time it's off there listed msrp. A lot of times a guy can get better deals on say ebay then with a discount of msrp through the factory.
I am a die hard leupold fan. I have a couple vortex scopes while they are ok and function fine. They are nothing like my leupolds. I have one pair of vortex binos. I picked up super cheap that rattle around in my work truck and that's about all they are good for

I just checked with them and the discount is 35% off of MSRP but that is still $150 dollars less than anywhere I have found. I dont see them for $450 on ebay. I dont like spending that much of ebay and hoping I get my purchase.
