Leveling kits

What are your thoughts on them?  Hell bent steel has one for my truck on sale for $70 at the moment.

I just installed one on a F-150,  2007 king ranch

should say helped install, he had most of the work done but needed help

Every truck I have had for the past 10 years has had at least a levekingnkit, moat 4"-6" lifts, I'm tired of the lifted truck game, going back to a leveling kit on my next rig.
Don't think it's to hard on components if not Bubba'd together,I like the look of a leveled truck way more then stock, and it allows room for bigger tires, without going overboard.

What's it going on?

I think it's the F-150 as it's listed for $70


The job is pretty easy if you have any mechanical abilities,  two floor jacks and 4 jack stands make the job easier.  We used air tools.


Do get new shocks and soon as you get the kit on get a new alignment pronto.

Alignment for sure but the shocks are only a couple years old with 15k on them

I'd be willing to bet it'll firm your ride up a touch, which imho most truck now a days benefit from. I doubt you'll regret it, especially at that price. I think they look great leveled, shoulda came from the factory that height.

Be ready to re aim your headlights, and re-set and weight distributing hitch you might have

Did you up your tire and wheel size?

same wheels, larger tires.  Wasn't my truck I was just helping out.  The kit that was used was 2.5 inch I think and it came with a block for the rear leaf springs.  The $70 kit you found doesn't have a block for the rear, we did the front first and a block was needed for the rear to make it look right.  I think it was 2.5 inches up front and .72 inches in the rear.

He went to a BFG T/A K02   loves them.   The truck looks and rides great.  You'll want to make sure you don't need a longer stroke shock, his kit came with shocks.

I have one on my tundra crew max,  no ride difference noticed, I left the rear blocks out,  like the look better as with them it did not look level

make sure to disconnect the battery on that 2013 fx4 before installing.  I don't know the details, but i know two people that have screwed up the electronic measured/electronic rack and pinion steering.  I think it keeps track of the center position, or something to that effect.  anyway, it cost both people $1800 to fix that piece of the leveling kit install.  It could be complete horse pucky, but i found it odd that two different individuals dealt with the same problem.  apparently it was a change in the 2011 and newer F150s

Is it a complete kit for $70 ? Or is it just the blocks for above the springs. I bought a 2 1/2" level kit for my 2012 F350 from Readylift that's a complete kit. It came with the blocks for the springs,  the brakeline drop brackets , the sway bar drop brackets , bump stop drops and the drag link drop bracket ( without this it shifts the front axle towards the driver side 1/2"-3/4") depending on how high your going. Also came with shock drop brackets  which I didn't use because I just ordered Bilstien 5100's for a 2" lift. Granted it was $315 but its alot more complete than just a block that doesn't address all the other things you need to address when lifting ( leveling ) a truck. Install took me 2 1/2 hours by my self.
 You don't need blocks for the rear since you are only leveling out the front. Your shocks with 15k miles on them will be short ( since they are for a stock truck )so it will not allow the tire to droop all the way

For 1500 Rams its just a shock change to Bilstein 5100's.  Be dragging without it.

Not sure what you mean besides an alignment afterward. It's a strut extension

Got it installed this morning with a little help from a buddy's shop lift. Everything went smooth and it'll be getting aligned in the morning. With the 2 inch kit, the front is 1 inch lower than the rear. I'm pretty happy with that because I had worries of being nose high.
