is it good for coyotes?

Personal opinion?  Too light for yotes.
my thoughts too, if i want to pull the trigger on an animal. I also want it to die rather quick and proper.
TANNERITE needed for target practice on opening day of each hunting season.

I believe that the .22 mag is a far superior hunting round. But the .17 HMR is better for targets. Both are too expensive to plink with though. :twocents:

I had one...sold it to fund another project.
Getting ready to list about 5 boxes of ammo and a boresnake.
Good cartridge...picks up out where 22lr leaves off.
Very accurate.

I've used my 17hmr on coons, works just fine.  Have yet to shoot a Yote or a Bobcat with it, but have shot a couple of oversized Feral Cats, and it was a bang flop situation with those guys, and a couple of them were pushing over 20lbs, so I thinkit will work fine on a Bobcat.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
