Ouch. I hope she doesn't read this.  Unless you have heavy fuel usage costs, there is probably not much benefit to not just paying off your rig.  If she helps you do that, you might have a keeper.

Wow! That was AWSOME! Air five bro.  pay off the truck then dump her. Women pull this crap all the time.

I hope you are joking.

Two cents?  She has two kids, also, with some possible attachment.  So your not just repaying metaphysical karmic debt for some smarmy things women have done before here.  Be a man.  If you don't see it working.  Leave outright, and pay your own debts.

That truck is pretty much at the bottom of it's value. If it's still reliable and takes you where you want to go, keep it. There will be very little applied to a newer truck on a trade in after your current note is paid off. Keep it and continue paying down debt. A newer truck isn't going to get enough better mileage to offset the payment

I would say keep the truck and work hard at paying it off. Getting your personal finances intertwined with a girlfriend can have un intended consequences.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I don't want her to pay off my truck invade it doesn't work out. I'm totally fine with paying off my own debt . It was just a conversation she started and I'm not sure how to tell her even if she helps me pay it off I still want to keep it. It's not justly my hunting rig . My kids have took trips in it. I know it's a material thing. But im attached to it hehehh. Nah I tried to convince her not to help and I definitely ain't trading it in

Yeah I did that for an ex with her car . She wasn't an ex when we were dating but after I helped her get her car paid off it was audioce guy.  Sorta everything went to *censored*. But yeah that's what I tried to tell her . She's a good gal . I just didn't want money involved in my relationship.

Thanks for the comments. We suppose to talk about it tommorrow night. I'm glad I'm not the only one who things I shouldn't mix money up in my relationship.  Preciate all the views from all the angles .  But I've decided to not have her help with it. Just need to make her see it's not a money thing and it's not gunna brake or make our relationship. However she views it well that's a different story. Besides if I'm still with her in 6 months I'll just be forking over half of what I was paying to her new car note that she got her self into . My note was a series of circumstances hers was a want . Might as well get at least the Intrest paid on hers monthly that way she can see how I work my money clearly.  Have a happy holidays

If you're already in debt on a 16 year old truck, trading it for a newer rig (with a larger payment) isn't going to do your finances any good.

Pay it off,and then put whatever your payment was in a savings account each month.

Unless something catastrophic happens, repairs will almost always be cheaper than a monthly payment.
