Parker Lake Moose Tag
« on: December 05, 2015, 10:45:32 AM »
Sitting here thinking on next years choices for OIL tags and was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Parker Lake moose tags? The question comes up because I was looking at harvest reports for 2014 and the bow guys had 100% but the muzzleloader guys were 0%. Curious on how that would happen.
I searched around a bit and can't find specific rules on this hunt. Wondering if it had something to do with how the USAF/WDFW conducts the hunt or maybe no moose in the area.....? The report basically says there were two tags issued and reported but zero days hunted. I can't believe that a guy waits 15+ years for a tag and neither go hunting.

they have a lot smaller season to hunt. they get 9 days to hunt and there are bulls just you are limited to the Parker lake closure and have to hunt where the Air force tell you. It is a training area for the Air Force Survival School. It's a 16 sq mile area.

This year archery was 50% and muzzy was 100%. All 3 bulls killed were really good bulls from what the biologist told me. The archery guy that didn't tag out had opportunities. There is almost zero hunting pressure because of the firearms and hunting restrictions. Great tag and it will be my families #1 choice. I will help anyone that draws this tag kill a bull. The spot I killed mine will hold bulls every year.

The archery tag that was filled, has a thread on here and is the biggest bull I've seen shot this year.  :yike:
