What leverage? Federal government doesn't set our seasons or for what animals. They don't set our seasons, quotas and for what animals. Once the wolf is delisted in central wa. By USFS I know I will want one

Quotas are set.  The Tribe is coerced by the Feds and set the quotas, but IMHO Tribal members will not ever be prosecuted for shooting a wolf irrespective of where they find it.

I have friends in Nespelem and Inchilium and FIRST HAND is where I get my info.  Someone said no quota and right in this article it talks about quotas.  I suppose that there are more contemporary articles but I am not all that interested in searching for them.  It just isn't that important to me.

We are not coerced by the Feds. I don't know where you heard that but when it comes to topics like this, it is our decision as a Tribe. It's call "self-governance".

The tribes set the "quotas". The tribal fish and wildlife make the recommendations then the Tribal Council approves and authorizes it. We don't need fed authorization for our seasons, limits.

Like I said, once the wolf has been delisted in central wa. I'm going to push for one asap. In our Usual & Accustomed Lands and certain areas of our Ceded Lands they are not listed but long drive to hunt one. USFS needs to hurry and delist so I can bag a few in my backyard.

Plus, I heard hugs are being given out for harvesting a wolf. :chuckle:

WDFW asks tribes politely to share info, whether it is given is up to the tribe.  Wouldn't that be refreshing

Basically the Tribal members I know say they kill em' where they find em' when they find em' and that they don't care if it is on the Rez or off the Rez.  Believe me guys, the Tribal sportsmen were anti-wolf for at least as long as any of us has been anti-wolf.

Glad they can at least do something about it.

It's going to get worse for us though.
