I had  a question about whether a feature on my elk shoulder mount was normal/acceptable but when I posted it I didn't mention the taxidermists name. Turns out it was and personally I'd feel really bad if I had damaged a small businesses reputation by complaining while not knowing the answer. If I were that business owner and relied on it as my source of income to provide for my family I would appreciate the chance to make things right, all the way to the end. Only after answering all questions and giving the taxi multiple chances to make it right would I name and blame them.  :twocents:

The capes are 6 years old and from another tannery and you're giving this guy crap about the quality of the cape fit on your animals? Did you read anything Michelle posted on the facebook threads you started? You might be able to learn something from it.
6 year old junky dried out capes from somewhere else and you're blaming this guy. I feel bad for this taxidermist.

I wonder if you have pics of your other bear mounts. All 7 of them for comparison.
no the one with the mouth open was. The half bear was shot spring 2013 and tannded the same time as the mulie. The mulie and elk are great. The half bear mount head sucks.

I would of been happy if the head looked/or had the muscle tone and blocky head like the open mounth bear. Yes I know the he is rubbed of hair. Plus the right eye clay build up is bigger. Looks like crap. I will have some one else fix it and when I get it back. (Date) I don't know. I will post a picture.  Thank and hope you have better luck with your bears If you use Elk Plains Taxidermy.

Sounds to me like you had fine luck with them.

I don't know a lot but just judging on how you've responded to everything, I think Taxi's will steer clear of you since you're so quick to smear names on public forums. I know when I get my own business going, I won't do business with someone like you.

sorry you feel that way.  I told him I would right a review about his work if he * on my other bear. We talked many times and all he said is the hide suck to work with. Ok get it but the funny looking half mount is not is fine except the funny looking. It is flat looking, eyes look small, and the right muscle bone is bigger than the left. I would of posted it if he would work with me but all he said before the hides won't strech. Thats it if he would of put more details in to his work on the half mounts head. I would of been satisfied and I wouldn't of posted anything. People are to scared to post reviews on  mounts, but it a taxidermist post a * mount you guy sure tell them. Like I said before we talked about it before and I told him I would post a review if the bear looked like *. So I did. Sorry If I affended his friends and people that had good mounts from him. He does do good deer and elk mounts ,but It is my opinion and reveiw. Yes I have had bad mounts in the past I just told them how it looks and left. They never got my business again and I never recommended them to friend. People shouldn't be made at me for voicing my opnion. I don't get made for you voicing yours. And trust me he has been fired from a few of the taxidermist on this form.

Here is the fall bear  picture. But it is hard to judge size with the mount picture. Trust me the mounth open bear mount is small with a load of wrinkles. The other picture is of my spring bear blocky and round head. The mount doesnt even look right. This is my opnion

Sorry you don't like your mounts, but you didn't really give him a lot to work with.

It seems like he did a good job of salvaging what he could.

I don't think it's right to trash him......   He does nice work if you give him good material to work with.

QUOTE:   Ive know him for years and reason he doesnt get any better and been fired from all taxidermist he has worked for is because excuses instead of trying to learn and get better. Michelle nelsons record speaks for itself and those two are great friends. Good luck.

If what you say is true, then WHY IN THE WORLD would you go there???????

That makes no sense.

If you care so much about your mounts AND you knew this about him, you have no excuse.

And this is after you took it back from someone else and gave him a 6 year old hide to work with?!?!?!?!?!?

P.S.   I don't know the guy.   I have never met him.    But your story doesn't add up, and I think it's bad form to trash a small businessman under these circumstances.

He's quoting a guy on here that PM'd him after this thread came up.
Seems like there are better ways to get the result a man would want to have other than a dressing down on the forum before all other avenues were exhausted.
Makes me real glad I don't have to deal with the public for work.
