So for the most part I have just come to the conclusion that if your hunting in the rain or after the rain on the westside, you just deal with being wet. I have tried several different types. My 3 in 1 waterfowl jacket holds against rain from above but once I go into the timber or brush my arms get soaked through to the bone. That seems to be the story with most of the stuff I try. The best results were when I was 17 and my mom bought me a military JSLIST from Goodwill haha, but that is so heavy to hunt in and still soaks through in a long days hunt, not to mention you sweat too much in it anyway. From the waist down I am normally dry besides sweat on bad days because I will wear long johns or pajama pants, then over them a pair of the real noisy rubbery type rain pants that normally will tear on anything but then I wear my camo cargo pants over them to keep them from being loud and tearing. This also helps give me pockets easy to use. The camo gets soaked and I stay dry, its just really sweaty and a pain to manage layers throughout the day. I would love to find something that is not too heavy, QUIET, camo, and easy to put on and off over hunting clothes. Is there any out there like that that will hold up against downpours and pushing thick soaked brush that anyone has experience with? Preferably without paying $250+ per item.

There is no such thing as quite rain gear that is 100% waterproof.  I have the First Lite stormtight rain gear and it is pretty quite, and has held up in many of western wa rain storms.  Nothing is as quite as wool.  River's West makes rain gear that has a light fleece outside that makes it quite, but doesn't breath very well, and the fleece holds water.  There are some companies that make rain gear with a really light fleece outer but like i said it holds water and weighs your down.  If you are hunting in heavy rain, the noise of rain gear doesn't concern me as much as when it's really quite.  If it has a chance of rain i wear first lite wool, if it's 100% chance rain then bring the rain gear.

The Helly Hansen rain gear is about as quiet as rain gear gets. And with it being just a single layer of rubber, they don't soak up water. They are very lightweight, and 100% waterproof. Only downside is the pants will tear fairly easily if you try walking through blackberry vines.

I'll have to echo the guys who've said wool.

The more I wear wool, the more I just CAN'T BELIEVE how awesome a hunting fabric it is. Unless it's hot and early in the season, I LITERALLY don't wear anything that's not wool for hunting clothing anymore. It's the best in every single way.

Are you guys serious?

I love my wool in dry cold weather, but when it's wet it's horrible. I just end up with 40 pounds of wet wool on my back.

I'm kinda surprised about the love that wool is getting in the rain. The nature of wool is that it's very absorptive, exactly what I don't want busting bush on the westside, which I have to say ends up being way more often than I like. I've tried kryptek and first lite. Kryptek would fill my boots with water. The first lite ends up being damp on the inside but works pretty well.

Probably the best is some non breathable pants with side zippers to dump heat when you have to.

I have heard several ol timers praise wool, some would say yes it gets wet, but wool will still keep you warm when its wet. I was kinda hoping for a miracle post saying "yea get these brand X blah blah, 100% dry and decently quiet, less than $100 for each top and bottoms" haha, knew I wouldn't get that response, but cant help but try.
