Do you have the GS-11 and GS-12 Federal level experience?  That's got to be a small pool of applicants, doesn't it?

That's not a lot of money if you have to live in DC!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

And they don't pay to move you there....
Like RadSav said.  For DC you will be living in squalor.

That is base salary.   You also get a location add on.  A GS 11 here in this area because it is the Seattle area gets paid more then a GS 11 not near a big metro area.  Say northern Minnesota.

You must have 1 year experience at the GS-10 level or GS-11 level.  Pay is 63722.00 for GS-11 step one for that area and 76378 for a GS-12 step one.  PCS costs are not authorized so it is a DYI move.  You also must meet the KSA's for the job.  Sounds like a great job though!

Indeed. It would be both a step DOWN in pay and a step UP in cost of living. Plus my kids currently go to a FREE charter school that is nationally ranked. I currently work more hours than I would have to at that job, but with commuting I'd be out of the house more hours per week as D.C. has grown hand over fist under God-King Obama. It would essentially be a selfish move--lowering my familys standard of living just so I can enjoy work more. We as husbands and fathers must sacrifice ourselves for our family. This is the agape love. Watch me sacrifice  :bash:  :bash:  :bash:

The government can take the fun out of anything, Bear Counter.  I'd imagine Photography wouldn't be immune.

LOL, true that, sir! I spend $5,000 moving my family there, and they be like: "Well Bean, little did you know your job will be to sit in a desk and 'Photoshop' statues of King Obama into landscapes of all the national parks."

:puke:

KSAs? I be like: "Look, the job is photographing national parks. So here's my resume..."

Can't argue that. IMHO there shouldn't even be a NPS, nor a USFWS, nor a USFS. Why can't the states manage it? If its not inherently delegated to the federal government by the Constitution, why does it even exist?

novel concept, huh?
