Brewster to entiat.
« on: December 07, 2015, 06:57:17 PM »
Anyone else having trouble finding bird? Hunted brewster to entiat the past 2 days, with today being in a boat. Numbers don't seem to be there like they were a week or so ago. Don't know if this last storm pushed everything through and we are waiting on another group of birds.

I think with the warmer weather, lots of water is opening up again so the birds are spreading back out and not depending on the river.

I drive from Wenatchee to Chelan about once a week. Have spent some time on the river above Rocky Reach hunting in the past. The bird numbers on the river have been down for the last two years. Not sure why but something has definitely changed. From what I hear numbers are down in the basin also. But geese numbers in town seem to be way up.

Wouldn't even think about hunting it unless Temps are bitter cold for about a week straight.

Should of been here a week or so ago. Got near 20 birds in 3 days. Went yesterday and struggled to put a limit between 2 guys on an all day hunt. Daroga is loaded as usual but there's a lot of coots mixed in.

We ran the boat near them and they lifted off only to circle back around us and land again.

Out for a short run today in the same area before the wind hit. My son fired one shot at the only bird that came through. It is like there is a "Black Hole" swallowing up the ducks. Too warm.
