SA XDs or Glock 30?
« on: December 12, 2015, 12:34:24 PM »
Thoughts on these two choices?  Any experience with them?

Thanks

I personally carry the glock 30s .  I don't personally own the xds but have a couple of friends who do and  have allowed me ample time with theirs to  help me decide on the glock.  There is a place for both guns for sure, and each gun has its advantages over the other. The xds is a smaller, thinner, and lighter gun which makes it easier to conceal. However the glock holds more ammo and in all of my experiences  is far more accurate. Not to mention when I was buying, the xds had just suffered a major recal.  And nobody wants a gun that discharges when you release the slide.  I carry my glock every day and now that I have found the iwb holster that fits me well, I hardly even notice the gun on my side. And that makes the one real advantage of the xds not even matter to me :twocents:

I have the 29sf and the XDS in 45. The XDS is fine for packing in crowed areas. I even almost forget I have it on.

The 29sf is about the same size as the 30. I pack my 29sf more than my XDS because I want the power and 4 more rounds.

I almost got an xds but when I compared the size difference with the mod 2. xd9 it was a no-brainer to get the mod.2.  It is 2/10 of an inch wider but much better capacity and a great feel in the hand.

Give the Springfield XD sub-compact really hard look. I love those. I have 2, one in the 40 and a 9mm. I carry one of those quite a bit..and, they come with a polished feed ramp and the Glocks do not..

I don't know about xds but I love my glock 30.  had a 21 for a duty weapon and wanted the same power not size.

I guess I thought it was a given that these two were .45's but guess not.  I will be buying another .45.  The XD-s is quite a bit slimmer than the Glock, but then again, a 10+1 cap. is nothing to sneeze at either.  Then there's the $150 price difference between the two.  I will be looking at both this week sometime.

forgot to say why I like xd over glock.  a friend got a new glock and it did not recycle after every shot and returned it for one that did.  that is the only reason.  mike w

I'd take the Springer every time.
The grip angle alone is enough reason.
The grip safety and width of the Springfield are two other important reasons.
Really, in the world of polymer/striker handguns, I don't get the excitement over Glock.

I went with the XDs.  I like the Glock but not sure about the grip on it.  Really liked the feal of the XD  though. Now just got to wait for my ffl to get it in.
